The ‘rumshop’ is as much a Barbadian cultural staple as cricket, rum and calypso music. With thousands dotted across this little island, a rumshop can be loosely defined as a Barbadian watering hole that also sells food and basic groceries. There is one on every corner in villages and towns; a local hangout to eat, drink, dance, play dominoes and argue about politics.
